SSL: Do I need to migrate content to secure_html?

#1

I’ve already started developing my Laravel app in public_html, and now I need to get an SSL cert to have https enabled for my web app.

Do I need to migrate all the content over to secure_html? Or when I purchase the SSL cert and apply it will it enable my public_html content to be https?

I’ve looked in the cloudways documents and couldn’t find an answer. Hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

Thank you

There are two ways to implement SSL certificate to your application in Cloudways platform.

  1. Implement Let’s Encrypt Certificate (which is provided for free from Cloudways)
  2. Creating a Certificate Signing Request (CSR)

In both of these methods, there will be no need to migrate your data over secure_html.

Now to Implement Let’s Encrypt Certificate

  1. Go to application in Cloudways platform
  2. Map your Domain to Cloudways
  3. Go to SSL Certificate option
  4. Fill in your email id and domain

For more detail please take a look at: How to Install a Let’s Encrypt Certificate for My Application

Creating a Certificate Signing Request (CSR)

Now if you want a custom certificate you will need to create a CSR.

  1. Go to application in Cloudways platform
  2. Map your Domain to Cloudways
  3. Go to SSL Certificate option
  4. Toggle to Custom Certificate
  5. Create the CSR
  6. Click on Install Certificate

I hope it helps you. Happy Coding.
