[Resolved] New files in wp-admin and wp-includes

** Issue has been resolved.**

I migrated my WP site to Cloudways yesterday. Before doing so, I ran a Wordfence scan, and it was clean.

Today, I received an alert from WP after it found 32 new files in my wp–admin and wp-includes directories. Some of them are:

wp-includes/js/plupload/plupload.flash.swf
wp-includes/js/plupload/plupload.full.min.js
wp-includes/js/plupload/plupload.silverlight.xap
wp-includes/js/swfupload/plugins/swfupload.cookies.js
wp-includes/js/swfupload/plugins/swfupload.queue.js
wp-includes/js/swfupload/plugins/swfupload.speed.js
wp-includes/js/swfupload/plugins/swfupload.swfobject.js
wp-includes/js/swfupload/swfupload.swf
wp-includes/js/mediaelement/background.png
wp-includes/js/mediaelement/bigplay.png

Should I be concerned or can I tell Wordfence to ignore these until changed?

They are leftovers from a previous version that should have been removed by the core update. https://wordpress.org/support/topic/worrying-flagged-issues/

Hi @evanstj

Is this resolved? An update should fix it. If not, try updating the WP core before migration. It should work fine.

Yes. It is resolved. I didn’t see anyway to mark it as resolved.
